The act of creative expression has always been a passion for me. The ease of working with the brush and sense of color come naturally. I was self taught at a young age, practicing the craft with the sole desire to master it. I'm often asked, What do you like to paint?" I reply " I simply love to paint.
It wasn't until later in life that I attended Kendall College of Art & Design and graduated with honors. As an artist, I'm always evolving, excited with every new work.
For many years I worked in a realistic style in oils and watercolors. Acquiring a following and collectors throughout the U.S. My ability to express myself in the abstract world came when I was brought to my knees from the devastating experience of losing my daughter. For a few years I was unable to paint and my world was black. When I finally picked up the brush again, abstracts seem to be the only way I could express myself. Thus my broad spectrum of my artwork, from realism to abstract and other creative expressions.
Commissions are welcome to allow your idea or image to become your unique piece of art. My paintings were selected to show in the Muskegon, Michigan regional fine art exhibit, plus in a number of galleries.
The Lynn Neuman Gallery in Douglas, Michigan was the setting for many hours behind the easel, where I created and grew leaps and bounds as an artist. My work is a refection of my true talent and passion.
"I have to allow my soul to speak through my brush stokes , and not let my head get in the way. I always have music playing, this sets the stage to give way to painting my feelings and thoughts. My technical and solid foundational skills become second nature which allows me the freedom to tap into my core and express it. If my painting gets a reaction, and the viewer has an emotional response, then I've done my job."
